Hi, I'm Mayumi. I'm drawn to themes of art, time, and faith. I think there are worlds to explore in the gaps and intersections between these, and I want to delve into them with my stories. The works by C.S. Lewis, Fyodor Dostoevsky, and J.D. Salinger deeply inspire me to search this reality with curiosity, love, and humor. Yet I'm also drawn to elements of the fantastic, inspired by authors like Leigh Bardugo, Brandon Sanderson, and Rick Riordan. In the end, I want to merge these influences into stories filled with wonder and magic, as entertaining as they are enriching. I want to probe the tensions in growing up, questioning your faith, and making art in every step. I want to write stories that ask questions and characters that clash with their own answers. I won't pretend to know the correct answer, if there's such a thing. But if one person could read my work and feel understood, then that would be enough.
